Northern Women Groups in Anambra state, have declared their support for the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and Senator Uche Ekwunife for the November 8 election
The women groups are drawn from the
21 local government areas in Anambra State
According to the leader of the groups, Hajia Teni Yusuf, there is no candidate among those vying for the position better than Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu
Besides, they said he has been one of them since his time as the chairman in Abuja and also represented them in the House of representatives before now
The women pledged to give him one hundred percent of all their votes come November 8, adding that adding Senator Uche Ekwunife to his train is a Clear indication of his plans for Anambra
They also vowed to mobilize members of their household, friends, neighbours and well-wishers to vote massively for APC during the poll
It was when Yusuf led the zonal and Council representatives of the group on a solidarity support visit to Ukachukwu at his campaign headquarters in Awka.
They lamented that their lives had been a living hell since the present administration mounted the saddle over three years ago.
They further regretted that most of Northern women resident in the State are jobless, poor and marginalized to the point that they don’t benefit from any of the programmes of the State government’.
Yusuf disclosed that Ukachukwu lived most of his life in Northern part of the country and has sizeable investments in the North and lives there with his family.
She described Ukachukwu as a coolheaded, detribalized Nigerian who stands between making Anambra State benefit more from the Federal Government than any other candidate, being same party with him.
She revealed that just like most of her members, she has spent over 35 years, in Anambra State and given birth to all her children in the state
According to her, “most women in the group are not educated and don’t have jobs, as a result of which make them to stay at home.
She said those who paid the solidarity visit were Northern Moslems and Christians who are living in Anambra State.
“We will go from house to house and church/mosque to mobilize support for APC to win and meet our needs”
Responding, Ukachukwu welcomed the Northern Women Support Groups, describing them as being part of him .
