A nurse, Ukama Ohaegbu, has cried out for help over discrimination against her by the Federal Road Safety Corps( FRSC) in job recruitment.
Stating that she made distinction in her nursing and midwifery certificates, she wondered why FRSC should disqualify her arbitrarily.
She said her height is 1.62m but FRSC disqualified her, forcing a height of 1.58m on her, which she described as deliberate falsehood to eliminate her from the recruitment exercise.
She said, “I am Nurse Ohaegbu Ukamaka Francisca from Uga in Aguata LGA of Anambra state. I applied for Federal road safely commission 2023 recruitment as a REGISTERED NURSE MIDWIFE, which I was invited for screening on 16th May 2023 at Awka, Anambra State.
“I went, submitted my credentials and all that. I read Nursing and Midwifery in the school and passed with Distinction. Though I have a little problem on my leg, it didn’t prevent me from studying the nursing in school then or doing my duty as a nurse.
“Then on 1st of June, I was invited for the training which will last for 6 months at FRSC Owa Alero, Delta State. I went there on Wednesday been 7th June, 2023. And they were snapping and videoing me here since that Wednesday.
” I don’t know the reason. My work will be in clinic and not main road. So, on 11th, the Commandant called me and asked me to leave because of my height 1.58m. That what they take is 1.60m. But my height is 1.62m everywhere. I don’t know if they are sending me out because of my leg or the height now. Please i need help. Am a registered nurse midwife.
“Please well meaning Nigerians, help me get my God given Job, they’re sending me home now.
“Please Nigerians, help me to make sure that my story gets to the Corps Marshal DA Biu and to the Senates of Nigeria because I am voiceless..
Nigerians, please help me out.
