The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Somtochukwu Udeze has said that the late former Chairman of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Prof.Humphrey Nwosu offered his best to ensure the growth and development of Nigeria’s democracy.
In his Condolence Message to the family of the late Prof.Nwosu on behalf of the State Legislature, Rt.Hon.Udeze enjoined politicians to always reflect on the political reforms established by the late Prof.Nwosu in order to move the country forward.
The Speaker who extolled the late Prof.Nwosu’s innovative Option A4 voting and Open Ballot system, reiterated his call on the federal government to honour the late Prof.Nwosu by naming an important federal institution after him.
He commended the late Prof.Nwosu for initiating payment of salary to traditional rulers when he was a member of the State Executive Council during the tenure of Governor Samson Emeka Omeruah in old Anambra State.
Rt.Hon.Udeze while praying God to grant the soul of the late Prof.Nwosu eternal rest, described his death as a great loss to Nigeria’s Political Institution, Academia, Public Service, Ajalli Community, Ndi Eni Asaa, Orumba North, Anambra State, Nigeria and the Global Community.
