The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South East zone, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, has said that the party is set to capture the remaining states in the zone into the party.

He said the prospects of the APC in the SouthEast region seem to be very bright as the days roll by.

Arodiogbu who spoke to journalists in Anambra said the party has put mechanism in place to ensure that it captures Anambra next year when the party holds its election, while Abia and Enugu will be captured during the 2027 general elections.

He said: “I can assure you of the zone’s intention of correcting the mistake of 2023 by ensuring that the party wins the forthcoming Anambra guber polls.

“All hands are on deck to actualise such, after which Abia and Enugu would also follow. We have a number of positives for the party in the zone, and we hope that these will translate to victory.

“The achievements of the zone under my stewardship include the continuous mobilization of members by the party in the various states which had seen a number of stalwarts decamp into the party’s progressive fold.

“There is the improvement on information dissemination via the creation of a website, (www.southeastapc.com) and the establishment of a magazine as well as the improved channels for interaction between the party and its members in the Federal Executive Council, federal government appointees and the members of the National Assembly.

“This has given the zone a better understanding of certain policies and actions.”

He thanked the governors of Imo and Ebonyi states, and noted that the duo have been very supportive of the zone’s activities, but wanted them to do more for the party in terms of ensuring that party faithful within the zone were adequately rewarded, particularly by getting these members appointments into a number of agencies and parastatals.

Speaking on the hardship in the country, Arodiogbu said: “We are not oblivious of the present day situation in the country, but we urge Nigerians to bear with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was keen on fixing the nation’s socio-economic cum socio-political issues. I assure you there would be light at the end of the tunnel.”
