A Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chinedu Obigwe, has strongly condemned Obiora Okonkwo’s criticism of Governor Charles Soludo’s administration.

In a statement released on Saturday, Obigwe urged Okonkwo to focus on his business in Abuja and allow Governor Soludo to continue his excellent work in Anambra State.

“Anambra people rejected Obiora Okonkwo in 2021 and will do so again in 2025,” Obigwe stated, adding,”Governor Soludo has justified the confidence reposed in him by the electorate and will be re-elected in next year’s governorship election.

“Under Governor Soludo’s leadership, Anambra State has witnessed significant achievements.

“Governor Soludo has taken bold steps to address insecurity in the state, defeating unknown gunmen and reducing kidnapping and robbery incidents. Additionally, over 500km of road projects are nearing completion within 2 years and 6 months.

“The state has also seen improvements in healthcare services, with free ante-natal and delivery services implemented in all government hospitals.

“Furthermore, Governor Soludo has introduced free education from primary to secondary school level and empowered young people through the “1youth 2skills” programme.”

Obigwe criticized Okonkwo’s “it must be me at all cost” mentality, referencing his failed governorship bids in 2021.

Okonkwo contested the PDP primary, lost to Valentine Ozigbo, and then defected to the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), where he lost to Governor Soludo.

“Obiora Okonkwo’s desperation is evident,” Obigwe said, adding, “He should face his pimp business in Abuja and leave Governor Soludo alone.”

Obigwe emphasized that security issues should not be politicized, noting Governor Soludo’s significant strides in addressing insecurity in Anambra.

“Those politicizing insecurity have a hand in it,” Obigwe said: “They sponsor insecurity to blackmail the government.”

Obigwe’s statement comes after Okonkwo alleged that Governor Soludo’s administration is not providing adequate security in the state.
