An All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) chieftain, Chief Primus Odili, has urged eligible residents of Anambra State, particularly those in Anambra North Senatorial Zone, to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

In a statement on Monday, Odili said securing the PVC would enable citizens participate in elections and elect leaders capable of advancing the development of their communities and the country.

He noted that the nationwide CVR exercise, which began on January 5, 2026, will end on April 17, 2026.

Odili’s appeal followed a recent media briefing by Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr Queen Agwu, who described the state’s participation in the first four weeks as commendable but said there was still room for improvement.

She said only a few thousand new voters had registered so far across the state, stressing the need for greater mobilisation.

While commending INEC for its efforts, Odili called on youths who had attained voting age since the last election to take advantage of the exercise and register.

He also urged community leaders in Anambra North, including youth and women leaders, ward chairmen, Presidents-General, councillors, local government chairmen and clergy, to sensitise residents on the importance of the CVR.

Odili added that the voter card also serves as a widely recognised means of identification for official transactions.

He further urged members of APGA to update their membership under the party’s new digital registration system and encouraged new members to join the party.
