The All Progressives Congress APC in Anambra state, has alleged that the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, is paying some of the political parties in the state to partake in the September 28 local government polls.

This was disclosed to APC leaders in the state by the Chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike, at the newly acquired office of the party opposite government house in Awka.

According to Ejidike, it was the reason, some of them had jettisoned the arrangement reached by the Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC not to participate in the planned Council polls in the state

The APC chairman said, We must remain focused because APC is the major opposition party in Anambra state.

“I called one of our colleague chairman of one of the parties and asked him why, he told me he was feeling sleepy and pleaded to speak with me the following morning

“Since that day, I’ve called him eight times and he has refused to pick my call. This is to show you how some of them are ridiculing themselves. It’s so unfortunate. APC is a big party and we are now doing it our own way

“Already, thousands of APGA members have indicated interest to join APC. The day the National chairman of our great party will come here to commission the new Secretariat, it will be tsunami.

“Very soon, APC will commence local government tours in the state ahead of the 2025 governorship election, so Ward and local government chairmen should always be ready.

“The local government elections they said they are preparing is not for APC, we must teach them how politics is played.APGA and Governor Chukwuma Soludo want to do what they could not do for over two year in just 30 days, is it possible?

“They should assemble their legal team, APC has done that already, let’s see how it goes. We won’t be part of legitimizing illegality” Ejidike said

Meanwhile, one of the chieftains of APGA, Chinedu Obigwe debunked the allegation, describing it as false

He said APC does not want to partake in the Council polls because they were not on ground in Anambra state and would be beaten mercilessly during the election.

Meanwhile, the party used the occasion to accord one of the APC’s leaders ,Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who passed on recently, a minute silence before the commencement of the meeting
