The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Urban Water Assets Holdings Corporation, Mr Ejiofor Ikeobi, has assured that residents of Awka will soon start drinking clean water.
He stated this while conducting an inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation work on the Aroma-Awka Urban water scheme.
Ikeobi said he was certified with the progress of work at the site and commended the contractors -OVERMAN PUMPS.
He explained that the rehabilitation project was aimed at revitalizing the water infrastructure in Awka and ensuring the delivery of clean and portable water supply to the residents.
He said, “this commitment aligns with the promise made by the State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s manifesto”.
In continuation of his working tour, Mr. Ikeobi also visited the old water cooperation headquarters located in Aroma, Awka.
While observing the facility, he said, “remarkably, this facility had been abandoned for a 16 years. Now, with the ongoing rehabilitation efforts, it is poised to regain its significance as a vital hub for water management in the region.
“The Anambra Urban Water Assets Holdings Corporation remains steadfast in its mission to enhance water accessibility, quality, and reliability for the people of Awka.
“As the rehabilitation progresses, the vision of a revitalized urban water system draws closer, promising a brighter future for the community”.
