Birth rate jumped from 200 babies per month in Obiano’s era to 1,600 in my govt – Soludo

Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo, has said that in less than two years of his administration the birthrate in the state has increased from 200 to 1,600 babies per month.
Soludo disclosed this at the birthday ceremony of Sir Emeka Offor in Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state at the weekend.
Attributing the surge to his free antenatal programme, Soludo said when he took over from his predecessor, Chief Willie Obiano, “The total birth rate per month was 200, but today it has gone up to 1,600 with zero mortality.”
He said this was due to the investment the state government had made in the health sector.
The governor said 52% beneficiaries of the Anambra free antenatal were non-indigenes

The governor commended Sir Offor for living an impactful life and reaching out to the poor and widows.
Speaking, Offor thanked friends and well-wishers for celebrating with him on his 65th birthday.
He promised to spend the rest of his life in the service of God and humanity.
