Over 500 people with various ailments and health challenges have benefited from a free medical treatment programme sponsored by Chief Chris Uba, a renowned politician and philanthropist, at Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The medical mission, which included minor and intermediate surgeries, eye surgeries, and medical treatments for diabetes and hypertension, was part of Chief Uba’s annual philanthropic efforts to support the needy and less privileged.

Chief Uba, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees and an aspirant for the Anambra South Senatorial District seat bye-election, also distributed bags of rice, clothes, cash, and motorcycles to hundreds of women and beneficiaries from Uga and neighboring communities.

He urged well-meaning individuals to remember the poor and needy, especially during festive seasons, as a way of giving back to society.

Dr. Humble Chimaobi Evuchaiwe, leader of the medical team, praised Chief Uba’s gesture, stating that he has consistently spent his resources to help the less privileged, unlike some wealthy individuals who prefer to travel overseas.

The free medical services, which have been held for three consecutive years, have saved many lives and provided essential medical care to those who cannot afford it.
