At the meeting of Ndi Igwe Anambra held today at the Governor’s lodge in Amawbia, the Anambra State Igwes, in collaboration with the Governor, agreed to abolish the Council of Igwes and invite the full house to be members of the council. The move elicited a huge applause for the Governor from the Igwes.
Furthermore, Obi of Onitsha, HRM Nnaemeka Achebe remains the Chairman of Anambra state Igwes.
There will be full collaboration between the Anambra State Government and the Igwes, through a committee formed by Igwes and the Ministry of Chieftaincy, to be chaired by HRM Nnaemeka Achebe, Obi of Onitsha.
The Igwes applauded the Governor and vowed to give him full support.
