In what many described as a masterstroke of gratitude and loyalty, business mogul and APGA chieftain, Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, stunned supporters and party executives with a jaw-dropping ₦100 million cash splash in appreciation of their unwavering support.

The grand event, held at his palatial country home in Ihembosi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, brought together APGA local government principal officers, ward executives, and his committed campaign team, all of whom were visibly moved by the symbolic and generous gesture.

The oil magnate and CEO of Seahorse Lubricant Industries Ltd thanked his team for what he described as “unshakable loyalty and sacrifice” during his senatorial campaign — widely regarded as the most vibrant in Anambra South since the era of the late Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah.

Despite stepping down from the APGA senatorial race in deference to party leadership and in support of Emma Nwachukwu, Chief Onunkwo proved he is not just a politician—but a true party man with class.

“I may have stepped down, but I have not stepped aside from APGA’s progress. My commitment remains unshaken,” he said, drawing thunderous applause from the crowd.

Among dignitaries present was Mayor of Ekwusigo, Mr. Chimezie Obi, who hailed Chief Onunkwo as “the backbone of APGA in Ekwusigo since 2006.”

“He made my emergence as Mayor possible. He is a selfless leader and a pillar of the party,” Mayor Obi declared.

The atmosphere at the event was electric — with music, cheers, and plenty to eat and drink — as party faithful showered praise and prayers on the man affectionately known as “Ebuka N’elu Igwe.”

One ward woman leader captured the mood best: “Even without the ticket, he is still our champion!”

This latest act of generosity further cements Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo’s reputation as a grassroots mobiliser, strategic politician, and gentleman loyalist — always ready to give, even when he steps aside.
