EDITORIAL: President Tinubu’s Visit to Anambra: A Welcome Gesture that Needs No Politics
EDITORIAL

BY TONY OKAFOR
Barring unforeseen circumstances, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will visit Anambra State on Thursday, May 8, to commission several landmark projects executed by the Governor Chukwuma Soludo Administration.
The RAZOR NEWSPAPER Management is delighted by this development, which demonstrates an excellent working relationship between the federal and state governments. We wholeheartedly support this gesture.
In a federation, the president is the president of all, not just a particular political party or section.
Unfortunately, some individuals have chosen to politicize this visit, forgetting the importance of cooperation and collective progress.
The projects to be commissioned are tangible evidence of the progress being made in Anambra State, including the Obi Ndi Anambra (New Government House), Fun City, and numerous roads, such as the Amawbia-Nise-Agulu-Nanka-Ekwuluobia-Uga Road with a flyover at Ekwulobia.
This visit highlights the benefits of subnational cooperation in a federation, where governments working together yield tangible results.
The opposition’s campaign refrain of connecting Anambra to the centre is being addressed by Governor Soludo’s administration, which has established a working relationship with the Tinubu government.
This partnership showcases the potential for progress when governments put aside partisan differences.
As we reflect on the past, we are reminded of governments in Anambra State that worked at cross-purposes with the federal government, regretting their actions and causing suffering for the people.
It is time to learn from history and appreciate the dividends of cooperation.
By working together, we can accelerate development and improve citizens’ lives.
As we welcome President Tinubu to Anambra, we bring to his attention the state’s peculiar ecological problems.
Erosion has eaten up almost half of Anambra’s landmass, requiring urgent attention.
We hope this visit marks the beginning of a new era of collaboration and support for the people of Anambra.
We extend a warm welcome to President Tinubu and look forward to the commissioning of these projects, confident that this visit will usher in a new era of progress and development for Anambra State.
With cooperation and collective effort, we can build a brighter future for our citizens, where no one is oppressed.
Welcome to Anambra, Mr. President – we eagerly await the positive impact of your visit
