In a surprise move, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)-recognized National Leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Edozie Njoku, has announced the appointment of Chief Ikechukwu Ejesieme as the new Anambra State Chairman of the party.
This development follows the purported sack of Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye as the state chairman of the party in Anambra State, and Sly Ezeokenwa by a court as the National Chairman of the party amidst lingering leadership crisis within the party.
Ejesieme, fondly referred to as onye uno, hails from Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area, the same hometown as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
The new chairman brings a wealth of experience to the table, promising to steer the party towards its core objectives in the state.
In a related development, Hon Sam Nwogbo has been appointed Acting State Secretary to further strengthen the leadership structure within APGA Anambra State.
Ejesieme’s mandate includes overseeing the forthcoming local government election primaries in Anambra State.
The party has warned the general public to be vigilant about individuals who may claim leadership status within APGA in Anambra State, apart from Chief Ikechukwu Ejesieme and Hon Sam Nwogbo.
