The governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma, has urged the people of Anambra State to “rise and take back” the state from what he described as “ndi aka-odo government,” calling for the rejection of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the forthcoming November 8, 2025 governorship election.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Chukwuma accused the APGA administration of deceiving the people of Anambra with empty slogans while failing to deliver meaningful governance. He said the state had suffered neglect under what he termed “a government of professors who know little about leadership.”
“Ndi Anambra umunnem, we must rise and take back our state from the hands of ndi aka-odo government. We must salvage the system of professors who don’t know anything about leadership. We must say no to Soludo’s APGA government.
“They have deceived Ndi Anambra with the slogan ‘APGA bu nkeanyi.’ That one-chance slogan must end,” Chukwuma declared.
Describing himself and his running mate, Uzu Okagbue, as “God-sent to Anambra,” Chukwuma vowed to restore the state’s “lost glory” and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.
He maintained that the YPP represents the best hope for a new and prosperous Anambra built on fairness, competence, and accountability.
“Ndi Anambra, let’s come out on November 8, 2025, to pick leaders we deserve—leaders who can take Anambra back to its lost glory. I am the best and most qualified candidate to manage the affairs of this state under the Young Progressive Party,” he said.
Chukwuma assured that a new era of development and inclusiveness would emerge if elected governor.
“With Sir Paul Chukwuma and Uzu Okagbue, a new Anambra is possible. Vote for positive change. Vote wisely,” he added.
The YPP candidate’s statement comes as political campaigns intensify across the state, with parties positioning themselves ahead of what analysts predict will be a fiercely contested governorship election.
