The Anambra State Government is taking decisive action to strengthen internal security.
Prince Ken Emeakayi, Special Adviser on Community Security to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has issued a clear warning to all vigilante groups and private security firms: comply with state regulations or face consequences.
In a statement released Wednesday by Comrade Nweke Nweke, Media and Publicity Secretary for Agunechemba, Prince Emeakayi announced a critical meeting scheduled for this Friday at ASTUC Hall, Old Government House, Awka, at 12 noon. Attendance, he emphasized, is mandatory.
The meeting forms part of a broader effort to coordinate vigilante and private security activities under Anambra’s Homeland Security framework.
Prince Emeakayi referenced Section 7 of the Anambra Homeland Security Laws of 2025, which mandates the registration of all private security companies with the state government before operating.
Nweke noted that the gathering will be vital for controlling the misuse of arms and ensuring the proper management of security resources across the state.
“This is the first meeting of its kind since Prince Emeakayi assumed office. It presents a golden opportunity for security outfits to exchange intelligence and align with state regulations,” he said.
Security analysts view the move as a clear signal that the state government is determined to crack down on rogue security operators and enforce accountability among armed personnel.
Non-compliance, the statement warns, will invite strict consequences.
With Prince Emeakayi at the helm, Anambra’s security apparatus is set for what could be the most coordinated and far-reaching overhaul in recent years.
