Enugwu-Agidi crisis: Igwe’s Secretary, Ndulue writes indigenes, calls for action

News

As the crisis in Enugwu-Agidi continues, the Chief Press Secretary of the Igwe of the community, Chief Ifeanyi Ndulue has called on indigenes to wake up and join hands to rescue the community.

The monarch of the community, Michael Chidozie Okekeuche, and his President General, Hon Ebuka Onuorah have been at loggerhead for sometime, leading to crisis in the community.

But Ndulue in an open letter to the people accused the PG of stocking crisis, insisting that the community loves All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and also supports the government of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, contrary to allegations leveled against the PG, claiming that he has been the only one trying to push APGA in the community.

Letter is below…

*A CALL TO CONSCIENCE: TAKING BACK ENUGWU-AGIDI WITH DIGNITY AND PURPOSE*

By Ichie Ifeanyi Ndulue

My dear brothers and sisters of Enugwu-Agidi, great sons and daughters of our proud town, both at home and in the diaspora, today, I am constrained to write to you not to entertain you or to bore you with long grammar, but to sound a clarion call. A call to duty. A call to truth. A call to restore the pride of our Enugwu-Agidi. Enugwu-Agidi, a town once peaceful and purposeful.

Over the past few years, our beloved Enugwu-Agidi has been dragged through the mud by a few political jobbers, individuals who have taken advantage of our unwavering love for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to cover their selfish and destructive actions. These are not leaders. These are opportunists!

Many of us still remember the leaked audio conversation between the former mayor and the current President General (PG) of the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU), where they conspired to illegally remove our respected traditional Prime Minister, Chief Dr. Sir Osita Anameze (Onowu).
In that audio, the PG, shamelessly and without respect for our customs, declared that if Igwe Michael Chidozie Okekeuche did not endorse their treachery, he would go to the state government and claim that Igwe is a member of APC.

This is the kind of reckless blackmail and political dishonesty that has created acrimony, division, and pain in our land! And that has stagnated the development of the town for years now.

Let me be clear: the state government appears silent not because they don’t hear us, but because they have been made to believe that the PG and his small group of collaborators are the political strength of APGA in Enugwu-Agidi. That is a lie. A dangerous lie at that.

Yes, I say it boldly, the people of Enugwu-Agidi support APGA, but not because of Ebuka Onuorah and his selfish allies.
We support APGA because of its foundational philosophy.
We support APGA because of the transformation we experienced under the leadership.

We support APGA because of the pedigree of the pilot Stakeholders of the party in Enugwu-Agidi; Hon. Chief Emeka Onuorah, Hon. Dazza Udeozo, Ichie Ozo Umeano, Hon. Opigo Nwankwo. Hon. Charles Okongwu, Hon. Earnest Nebechi etc.

We continued to support APGA because of the Leadership and development witnessed under;

Chief Emeka Onuorah, who gave us the International Market and boreholes.

Hon. Dazza Udeozo, under whose leadership the Obunagu Bridge was constructed with the strong collaboration of Izuchukwu Okoye who at that time was the PA to Gov. Peter Obi.

Hon. Opigo Nwankwo and Hon. Nwankwo, who stabilized electricity in our town, financial support to the church and the town and direct empowerment of the youths.

Gov. Peter Obi, who renovated our schools and strengthened the vigilante.

Gov. Etiaba who did our road.

Gov. Willie Obiano , who lit up our streets.

Back then, myself and Eloka Okoye, as students, led the political awakening of the Enugwu-Agidi Students Association (ASA) at UNIZIK, preaching the APGA gospel not for personal gain but for collective progress.

That was real leadership. That was real vision. That was real APGA!

But what do we see today?
Land grabbing.
Criminal intimidation.
Disrespect for the Igwe and our traditional institutions.
Abuse of power.
Public speeches laced with arrogance and recklessness.
A complete collapse of accountability and morality!
We are not blind. We are not stupid. We are not cowards.
We know the pain of the people has intensified since these political manipulators came to power in 2022. And still, they have the audacity to parade themselves as leaders.

*But hear me now: their time is up!*

We are calling on all well-meaning Agidians to come together and set the record straight.

Let us rise and prove to His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, that Enugwu-Agidi will give him 100% support on November 8, without one single vote or contribution from the PG and his misguided clique.
Let us show the world that our love for APGA is rooted in principle, not patronage.
Let us reclaim our destiny and make these oppressors permanently politically irrelevant!

This is not just about politics, this is about the soul of Enugwu-Agidi.
It is about restoring dignity, rebuilding trust, and reviving hope in a town that has always led with wisdom and honor.

My dear brothers, we have been silent long enough. Now is the time to speak with one voice.
We must rise above fear. We must rise above tribalism.
We must rise above intimidation.

Let us tell the truth boldly: Enugwu-Agidi is not for sale!

Together, we will restore our land.
Together, we will rewrite the narrative.
Together, we will protect the legacy of our fathers and build a future our children will be proud of.

Long live Enugwu-Agidi!
Long live the Igwe-in-Council!
Long live the true spirit of APGA!
Long live justice, truth, and unity!

Thank you.
God bless Enugwu-Agidi.
God bless Anambra State.
God bless Nigeria.
