Enugwu-Agidi community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State has suspended the president general of its town union, Mr Ebuka Onuorah, over some infractions committed by his leadership against the community.

A letter of suspension to Onuorah by Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union (EBU), the parent body of all unions in the town, which was signed by 87 members of the union, unanimously agreed to his immediate suspension.

Among the 87 Central Executive Council (CEC) members of EBU Nigeria who signed the suspension letter are; Ozo Kenechukwu D. Okoye, who was named the interim President General; the Assistant Publicity Secretary, Comrade Echezona Egbeonu, and the Legal Adviser, Barrister Justin Obuzo, among others.

The letter which was made available to THE RAZOR was titled: “NOTICE OF YOUR SUSPENSION AS THE PRESIDENT GENERAL OF ENUGWU-AGIDI BROTHERLY UNION (EBU-NIGERIA).

It’s content read in part: “This is to inform you that the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of EBU-Nigeria, in its emergency meeting held on Thursday, 20” November 2025 and pursuant to the powers conferred on the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of EBU-Nigeria as delineated in its Functions outlined on Chapter 4, Article 16 (7), Article 18 (1) (2) and Chapter 10, Article 36 (2 – 6), has resolved to suspend you from office as the President General of EBU Nigeria effective immediately.

“This decision was taken after a careful consideration of your series of infractions/violations of the EBU Nigeria constitution of 3 April 2010.”

The letter itemized 17 violations against the embattled President General. Some of them included: alleged brazen violation of the union’s policy by unilaterally changing the dates of the 2025 Conference, consistent refusal to render the financial accounts, refusal to present any written budget for the consideration of the CEC as stipulated and illegal suspension of Ichie Sir (Dr.) Osita Anameze as the Onowu of Enugwu-Agidi.

Others are; allegedly aiding and abetting of illegal and pervasive grabbing, conniving with other officers of his administration, to dispossess a certain group of Enugwu-Agidi people and villages of their ancestral lands, acting dirspectfully to the Union or its officers, and manufacturing fake allegations against the traditional ruler of the community, among others.

The letter said: “This suspension shall subsist pending the consideration of a 5-person committee set up to investigate these infractions.”

This would not be the first time a tussle is ensuing in the community. In previous report by this newspaper, Onuorah in publishing his own side of the story had denied them, insisting that the community was happy with his leadership, and that only a handful of people jealous of his achievements were crying foul.

THE RAZOR learnt that the letter had been duly served on the embattled President General, but three day after, he was yet to appear before the panel of even tender the community’s properties in his possessions.
