Son of Senator Annie Okonkwo, former senator representing Anambra Central senatorial zone, Hon Uche Harris Okonkwo has officially announced the passage of his dad.
Uche Harris, a House of Representatives member-elect elect for Idemili North and Idemili who signed the release stated that further arrangements about his dad’s burial would be communicated later.

On behalf of my family, it is with deep sadness that I inform you of the passing of my esteemed father, Senator Annie Okonkwo. He departed this world yesterday, June 7 , 2023, leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and love.
My beloved father, Senator Annie Okonkwo dedicated his life to public service, championing the rights of the people he represented with unwavering commitment and integrity. His tireless efforts and passion for creating positive change will forever be remembered and cherished by those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Beyond his political achievements, my father was a loving husband, a caring father, and a doting grandfather. He possessed an infectious zest for life and a genuine compassion for others. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on our community.
While we mourn the loss of a great man, we take solace in knowing that Senator Okonkwo’s spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he impacted and the causes he fervently championed.
