Report reaching our news desk has confirmed that security operatives have arrested the killers of the newly elected President-General of Umuoji community, Chief Silas Onyima.
Recall that our correspondent had reported the gruesome killing of Mr Silas Onyima who was murdered in cold blood and dumped inside his bathtub.
A video which circulated online showed Mr Silas in the pool of his own blood lying face down in his bathtub with broken limbs and arm.
Following investigation, security operatives went after the suspects who were believed to be the masterminds of the dastardly act.
One of the suspects, an Ebonyi man, who was Mr Silas Onyima’s tenant was said to be in possession of his phones, ATM cards, his gun and so many other items in his house and was withdrawing money from the deceased account before they were nabbed.
Mr Onyima was said to have given him quit notice to vacate his premises because of his links with diabolism. This however infuriated him to hatch the plan to sniff out life from the President-General.
The suspected killer was said to be a son of the care giver of Chief silas Onyima’s late Mother who was accommodated in the deceased compound.
According to a voice note circulating online, Chief Onyima had before his death complained to his wife and some of his friends about threats he received from the said man.
The suspects have been taken to divisional police station in Ogidi for interrogation.
