The addition of “Receives Prestigious” adds a sense of importance and honor to the title, which fits well with the tone of the article. Overall, the headline effectively summarizes the content and will likely resonate with readers interested in Igbo culture and politics.
Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, was conferred with the esteemed Chieftaincy Title of “IFECHUKWUDELU NNEWI” by Igwe Dr. Kenneth O. Orizu III, the First-Class Monarch of Nnewi, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to promoting the Igbo cause in Nigeria and his exceptional performance in the Senate.
During the investiture ceremony, Senator Umeh was praised by the Monarch and members of the Cabinet for his remarkable impact and achievements.
It’s worth noting that Igwe Nnewi rarely awards such honours, except to well-deserving individuals who have been carefully selected and scrutinized, making Senator Umeh’s recognition even more significant.
In his response, Senator Umeh, accompanied by his wife Lady Prisca Umeh, the Traditional Ruler of Akwaeze, HRH Igwe Christopher Okpala, and the Traditional Ruler of Aguluzigbo, HRH Igwe Rufus Iloduba, expressed his gratitude to the Monarch, the Council of Obi, and the entire Nnewi Community for the honor.
He highlighted that this gesture has strengthened his bond with Ndi Nnewi, particularly through his collaborations with notable figures like Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Dame Virgy Etiaba, and Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma.
Senator Umeh congratulated Igwe Orizu on his successful 61st Ofala Celebration at 99 years old and commended the Monarch’s dynamic leadership, peace, and progress in the community.
He prayed for God’s blessings on the Monarch, wishing him good health and long life to celebrate his 100th birthday and 62nd Ofala next year and beyond.
The Senator assured Ndi Nnewi that he would continue to speak truth to power, just like the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and ensure effective representation of the people, upholding Igbo values.
Other notable honourees included Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, Senator Dr. Chris Ngige, and Chief Sylvester Okonkwo.
