The Medical Director of Princeton Specialist Hospital and Orthopedic Center, Awka, Dr. Amaechi Nwachukwu, MBBS, FWACS, Ortho, PhD, said he is ready to become a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. He stated that joining the Institute will enable him to contribute to promoting good communication practices in society, even as a medical practitioner.

He made this statement yesterday March 12, 2026, when he received the ‘Lifetime Reputation Management Award’ from the Anambra State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, during the chapter’s pre-annual general meeting and special engagement with PR students and members of the professional hub, held at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam campus.

Speaking after receiving the award, the renowned orthopedic surgeon @⁨Dr. Amaechi Nw⁩ thanked the Institute’s members and event organizers for the award, declaring he would prioritize joining the institute to contribute his quota to the society

Dr. Nwachukwu said, “When I got the invitation to this event and that I would be given this award from my good friend, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, I thought it was a joke-like occasion. I was amazed to see it was real. I have decided that after this event, I will inquire about how to enroll as a member. This will enable me to contribute meaningfully to society on the need for effective communication, as a physician.”

Dr. Nwachukwu, a consultant and senior lecturer at the institution’s Teaching Hospital in Amaku-Awka, announced he would sponsor 10 Mass Communication students from the university to attend the 2026 World Public Relations Forum in Abuja.

“I heard the National President of the Institute, Dr. Ike Neliaku, and the LOCC chairman, Dr. Nelson emphasizing the need for well-to-do individuals to help student-members attend the upcoming World Public Relations Forum event in Abuja. I will sponsor 10 persons to that event”, Dr. Nwachukwu declared.

The 2026 World Public Relations forum (WPRF), themed “Global Responsible Communication,” holding in November at Transcorp, will convene communication professionals, policymakers, scholars and business leaders from around the world to discuss how public relations can foster trust, transparency and social harmony.

Nigeria’s selection as the host of the 2026 World Public Relations Forum has been hailed as a defining moment for the nation’s communication industry and a testament to its growing influence in shaping global dialogue on ethics and responsible communication.
