
Anambra State police command has taken delivery of a new Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) to tackle criminals in the state.
The APC was delivered to the command by the Force Police Headquarters on the instruction of the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu who received the heavy duty military equipment expressed happiness about the gesture, saying it would help the command to tackle criminals in the state.
In a press release by the state police command’s spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga, he quoted Orutugu as expressing his deep appreciation to the Management of the Nigeria Police Force for the delivery of the equipment to the command.
The CP said: “This critical asset will significantly enhance the command’s operational capacity, especially in tackling emerging security challenges and strengthening the ongoing efforts toward maintaining peace, law, and order across the State.
“The Anambra State Police Command reassures Ndi Anambra of its renewed commitment to the protection of lives and property, and calls for continued cooperation from residents to ensure a safer Anambra for all.”
The CP further acknowledges the continuous support of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to the command.
He described him as the IGP whose proactive leadership continues to reflect in the improved logistics, welfare, and morale of officers nationwide.
