A renowned businessman based at the commercial city of Onitsha Chief Uchenna Amedu has earned a Chieftaincy title from the good people of Aji Essodo Kingdom in Enugu Ezike town as Omengbeoji of Ezike Oba (The Giver) of Enugu Ezike town in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The traditional ruler of Aji Essodo kingdom in Enugu Ezike town, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Igwe Dr Simeon Osisi Itodo (Ezeoha 1) conferred the title on Amedu along with other prominent personalities during the Ofala/Uyo Afa festival held at Igwe’s palace in Aji. The governor of Enugu State Dr Peter Mbah, his deputy Barr Ifeanyi Ossai and the Chairman Enugu State Council rulers HRM Igwe Samuel Asadu were all present at the festival.
Other prominent personalities who bagged chieftaincy title during the festival include the Chairman/CEO Ferotex Group High Chief Festus Onu, ex Member Federal House of Representatives Hon Simon Atigwe, the President of Umu Enugu Ezike Oba in Diaspora Chief Ronald Ayogu and a South African based businessman Chief Emenike Onuh among others
Conferring the title, the celebrant, Igwe Osisi Itodo explained that the kingdom deemed it right enough to select and recognize notable individuals who have contributed much to the development and progress of Aji Essodo kingdom and Enugu Ezike in particular and humanity in general adding that the title was to appreciate their effort and motivate them to continue to do more.
In his response after receiving the title Amedu thanked the celebrant Igwe Osisi Itodo, his cabinet chiefs and the entire people of Essodo kingdom for considering him worthy of the title assuring that he will continue to do his best in contributing to the development and progress of the kingdom in particular and humanity in general.
