NBA Election: Afam Osigwe Gets The Nod of Over 4,000 Lawyers In NASS.

On Wednesday, 17th July, one of the leading candidates in the upcoming Nigeria Bar Association election, Afam Osigwe, SAN, had an interactive session with Lawyers working in National Assembly, NASS.

The event saw over 95% of Special Advisers, and Senior Legislative Aides being trained at the A-Class Event Center, Abuja. Afam Osigwe saw it as a fertile ground to fraternize at the same time seek for the unanimous support and endorsement of these Senior Aides, who are lawyers amongst them, as he runs for the office of the President of Nigeria Bar Association.

Afam Osigwe, SAN, was former President of Nigeria Bar Association, Abuja Chapter, former National Secretary of NBA and also a Member Body of Benchers. Osigwe has always been consistent through the years. He rose through that ranks, via his perseverance and has continued to give back to the society through selfless service to humanity.

Osigwe, a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, noted that if given the opportunity to lead the NBA as the president, he will bring forth innovative and transformative changes, injecting fresh ideas that will change the status quo of the NBA and take the association to the next level.

Aware that Osigwe has paid his dues in several leadership positions, at State and National level, Osigwe assured the learned gentlemen and ladies who were at the event, that he will bring his vast wealth of experience to bear, if he is trusted with responsibility of being the president of the NBA.

“My manifesto is all encompassing. It covers all the hopes and aspirations of all our members, if I am given the opportunity to lead as your president” Osigwe said.

In response, the Chairman of National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum, NASSLAF, High Chief Emeka Nwala, thanked Osigwe for finding time to come and speak and listen to Aides who are lawyers and work in National Assembly.

Aware that National Assembly houses over four thousand (4000) Lawyers, which includes Legislators, Permanent Staff and Legislative Aides Barr. Nwala assured Osigwe of his unalloyed support with respect to the upcoming NBA Election.

Speaking further, Nwala advised Osigwe, SAN, that when he resumes office as the president of Nigeria Bar Association, he should always be on the side of the masses, defending the rights, privileges and welfare of the people.

Lastly, Nwala encouraged the hopeful candidate, Osigwe, to robustly engage the government with the view of reviving the organization. Nwala emphatically reiterated the need to vivify and bring back the reputation of the hallowed association.
