Ngige Charges Soludo Over Expansion Of Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital

Former Governor of Anambra state and immediate past Minister for Labour and Employment Sen Chris Ngige has dressed the need for the expansion of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.

Ngige made this appeal shortly after he was presented with an award of recognition by the College during the graduation and induction of 80 graduants of the Collage .

He also lauded the contributions of past university academics who midwifed the growth of the College of Medical and Health Sciences for m inception.

“Dwelling into the story & Labour of creating the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery when I was Visitor will not be told,will be longish but will also not be complete without mentioning the respected persons late Professors Festus Nwakor then Prochancellor and Okey Mbonu, then of Dept of Medicine &Surgery NAU,CMD NAUTH.God bless them”

“As we celebrate these 80 ,may I use the occasion to call on the Governor & Visitor to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Pro Chancellor ,the Vice Chancellor and Management to think and work aggressively towards expansion of the facilities so that more Medical Doctors and Health professionals will be produced”

“By now I had expected the number of graduands to be double of today’s figure of 80.what about the Dental surgeons Physiotherapists and co.”

Ngige who is also a Medical practitioner noted that the products of the Collage would be exportable as a major source of the country’s economic growth.

“These are the high level exportable skilled workers we need for our country now as the Diaspora remittances remains the major source of the Nigerian Economy
Countries like India,Bangladesh ,Ceylon, Pakistan passed this route in the 60s 70s and up the end the 20th century up till now.”

“Let us mass produce without lowering standards these professionals”

“I wish to also recall that your medocal products have represented the image of the University excellently. I therefore congratulate the staff both academic and non Academic of this College “he said.

Ngige also made a donation of N1 million to the graduation and induction of the 80 graduants .
