The National President of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Dr. Ogbonna Chime, has congratulated the Anambra State Chapter of the Institute on its Annual General Meeting and State Chapter elections, describing the occasion as an important moment in the continuous strengthening of professional planning practice in the state.

The message, delivered on his behalf by the National Financial Secretary, TPL Emeka Ogomuo, during the annual conference of the Anambra State Chapter on Wednesday, praised the leadership and members for what he called their “collective commitment” to promoting sustainable urban development across the state.

Dr. Chime noted that the gathering marked a transition from one “hard-working and dedicated” executive to another set of vision-driven leaders. He said the moment also offered the opportunity to review the chapter’s contributions to advancing robust and sustainable urban and regional planning practice within Anambra.

According to the statement, the achievements of the chapter underscore the determination of planning professionals to shape liveable, efficient and well-structured communities, uphold ethical standards, and ensure that cities within the state are prepared for current and future development demands.

The National President urged members of the Anambra Chapter to remain steadfast in pursuing professional excellence, innovation and stronger collaboration with both public and private sector stakeholders.

He encouraged the newly elected leadership to carry forward a clear vision that would elevate the status and impact of the planning profession within and beyond the state.

“Our expertise and dedication remain critical to shaping functional, resilient and inclusive cities that reflect the aspirations of a better planned Anambra State and Nigeria,” the statement read.

Dr. Chime expressed confidence that the AGM and elections would usher in a renewed era of unity and impactful service within the chapter and the wider town planning community.

He reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to continued partnership in the pursuit of a more sustainable and prosperous Anambra and Nigeria.

He concluded by extending warm congratulations to the state chapter, wishing it continued growth and progress.
