The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has honoured the wife of the governor of Anambra State, Dr Nonye Soludo, for championing a healthy living in the state.
The association described what the wife of the governor is doing with her NGO, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo as revolutionary and advancing public health advocacy.
The state Commissioner for Health and Coordinator of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, Dr Afam Obidike, who received the award on behalf of the governor’s wife, said that such honour could only inspire the governor’s wife to keep using her crusade to touch more lives.
Obidike, who was also one of the awardees, commended members of NMA in Anambra State for recognising the efforts of the governor’s wife who he said has used her NGO to make a significant impact by revolutionalising the concept and practice of healthy living across the length and breadth of the state.
Soludo, who is the founder of the non-governmental organization, ‘Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative’, received the merit award for her efforts in advancing public health during the ‘NMA 2025 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference’ in Awka, on Saturday.
The award was presented to her by the Anambra State chapter of the NMA during the event.
According to the association, the governor’s wife earned the honour as an appreciation for her tireless efforts as the “foremost champion of healthy living” and her outstanding contributions to the growth of the health sector in the state.
The association also noted that Mrs Soludo has consistently used her voice and position to protect child rights, promote infant and maternal health, and support women’s empowerment.
It further explained that through her widely followed platforms, she is championing wellness, nutrition, and transformative social insights, reaching thousands of people with practical solutions.
