Rev. Agoziem Isreal Okafor, a former priest of the Anglican Diocese of Nnewi, has been stripped of his ordination license by Bishop Rt. Rev. Chukwuka Ndubuisi Obi.

The move comes after Okafor resigned from the diocese due to “irreconcilable differences” and started a private adoration ministry.

Okafor, once a respected priest at Church of Pentecost, Obiuno Otolo Nnewi, was transferred to Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Convent Orafite as a Chaplin, but he refused to accept the new posting.

Instead, he submitted his resignation letter and began his own ministry, defying the bishop’s authority.

Bishop Ndubuisi Obi has warned church members to beware of Okafor’s new venture, stating that he is no longer accountable to the diocese and has been dismissed as a priest.

The battle between the bishop and the rebel priest has sent shockwaves through the Anambra Anglican community.
