Nnewi Concerned Citizens-sponsored vigilante security group took to the streets on Tuesday to intensify their security efforts and sustain the legacy of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
The group, comprising volunteers and community leaders, has been working tirelessly to restore peace and security in the area following a surge in criminal attacks since Senator Ubah’s sudden demise last month.
The late senator had ensured Nnewi was the safest town in Anambra state through his community-led security initiatives, which included donating security equipment and galvanizing community leaders and volunteers.
Following a period of demoralization and attempts by mischievous elements to disband the security outfit, the Concerned Citizens group has rallied to resume its security activities, bolstered by the support of the police and other stakeholders.
The group’s efforts aim to build on the legacy of Senator Ubah, a champion of community security and development, and ensure that his vision and sacrifices are not in vain.
Yesterday’s show of strength was a testament to the community’s resolve to take control of their security and bring lasting peace to their community.
