Nov Guber 8 Poll: APGA Mocks Obiora Okonkwo, Calls Him “Notorious Failed Politician”
By Our correspondent
Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, has dismissed Prof. Obiora Okonkwo’s call for a coalition of opposition parties against Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the November 8 governorship poll.
Obigwe described Okonkwo’s proposal as “dead on arrival,” stating that Okonkwo has consistently demonstrated a self-centered mentality.
This mentality, Obigwe said, led Okonkwo to defect to the Zenith Labour Party after losing the PDP primary in 2021.
Instead of achieving his goals, Okonkwo played a “spoiler role” for Valentine Ozigbo, according to Obigwe.
Governor Soludo’s second term project, Obigwe emphasized, is “Anambra people’s divine project” that transcends party affiliations.
He said patriotic opposition politicians are supporting Soludo’s re-election bid, citing his transformation of the state into a proud entity within Nigeria.
Okonkwo has been critical of Soludo’s governance, particularly regarding security and economic issues, describing Anambra as a “ghost state” under Soludo’s leadership.
However, Obigwe predicted that Okonkwo’s efforts will be futile, stating that “reasonable politicians” from various parties are backing Soludo’s re-election bid.
Obigwe described Obiora Okonkwo as a “notorious failed politician” whose rants are dismissed by serious-minded individuals.
He said a prominent archbishop in the state had cautioned Okonkwo to cease claiming the archbishop’s support, essentially warning him to stop name-dropping.
