November Poll: Peter Obi’s Support for Moghalu Rattles Rival Camps – Obidients Vow 2 Million Votes

By Our Correspondent

Just days after Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate and global father figure of the Obidient Movement, Mr. Peter Obi, stormed Onitsha in a thunderous endorsement rally, the political landscape of Anambra has been jolted again — this time by a powerful declaration from his loyal foot soldiers.

The Obidient Movement in Anambra State, riding on the wave of Obi’s endorsement, has openly thrown its full weight behind Dr. George Moghalu, the Labour Party’s governorship candidate for the November 8, 2025 poll.

“We are not sitting on the fence. We are in this to win it for Moghalu!” declared Chief Charles Obiora Anueyiagu, a key leader of the Obidient Movement.

Anueyiagu boasted that the Obidient structure will deliver over 2 million votes across Anambra’s 5,720 polling units and 326 wards, calling Moghalu “the people’s choice and the rightful occupant of the Lighthouse seat in Awka.

”Moghalu has the capacity, credibility, and the compassion the people yearn for. The Obidient family is fully mobilized,” he said.

Adding political fuel to the fire, another Obidient leader pointed to Moghalu’s strong resume:

“He’s not a rookie. He started off as a commissioner in Abia, served as APC national auditor, headed NIWA, and now, he’s our Labour Party torchbearer. We’ve done the verification — he passes.”

The endorsement, coming so soon after Peter Obi’s public show of support — alongside Senators Victor Umeh and Tony Nwoye — is rattling camps across the political divide.

“Obidients are in all parties, but our loyalty is one: Peter Obi. And since Obi has shown us the direction, we are following without blinking — George Moghalu all the way!” Anueyiagu declared.

He further urged Obidients still lingering in other parties to return “home”:

“There’s no division in Obidient. There’s only one assignment — and that’s delivering Moghalu as the next governor of Anambra.”

The rally, which turned Onitsha into a political carnival, is seen by analysts as a major shift in the upcoming election, injecting life into Moghalu’s bid while throwing a direct challenge at the incumbent, Governor Charles Soludo.

With Peter Obi’s body language clear and the grassroots network of the Obidient Movement awakened, the November 8 race may no longer be business as usual in Anambra.
