Human Rights Activist, Comrade Osita Obi, has made a surprising call to action, urging aspirants vying for the 2025 Anambra State governorship election to withdraw their candidacies.

Obi said instead the aspirants should rather channel their resources into the state’s security endowment fund in support of incumbent Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.

Obi, a seasoned activist with a history of advocating for good governance, cited his personal experience supervising Soludo’s projects as evidence of the governor’s commitment to the state’s development.

He believes that Soludo’s progress thus far eliminates the need for contenders in the upcoming election.

In response to critics, particularly apologists of Reverend Father Ebube Muonso, Obi defended his reputation as a dedicated activist, highlighting his past efforts to promote local government elections in the state during Peter Obi’s tenure as governor.

He also referenced a notable achievement in his advocacy for regular electricity supply in Awka, which led to a N100 million lawsuit against him by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), currently pending in a federal high court.

While acknowledging Reverend Father Ebube Muonso’s right to demand improved security for the people, Obi emphasized the importance of doing so with respect and decorum, rather than resorting to personal attacks on the governor.
