Obiano honours photographer who served 10 Anambra governors

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has honoured some members of his team and other stakeholders for their contribution to the success of his administration.

 

The event took an interesting at the newly built Anambra International Convention Center, Awka, when the Governor also decided to honour his official photographer, Mr. Obi Nwosu with the Distinguished Anambra State Service Award.

 

Mr. Nwosu hails from Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area.

 

He joined the Governor’s Press Corps in 1989 during the old Anambra State period.

 

Mr. Nwosu started by serving the then Military Governor, Herbert Obieze, Unfortunately, during a mild challenge at the Federal level, the then police Commissioner Doba Aliyu held brief as the state administrator.

 

Consequently, Navy Commander Joseph Abulu took over as Anambra State administrator, followed by Colonel Mike Attah, Colones Ukaegbu and Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife in 1992.

 

The Military took over which led to the emergence of Group Captain Rufai Garba as the state administrator in 1996.

 

Mr. Obi Nwosu continued to serve as Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju took over and later handed over to Dr. Chris Ngige who in turn handed over to Mr. Peter Obi in 2006.

 

Governor Willie Obiano took over the reigns of power in March 17th, 2014, Mr. Obi Nwosu has served Governor Obiano ever since.

 

In Conclusion, Mr. Obi Nwosu successfully, diligently served ten governors as the Governor’s Chief photographer.

 

This award stands out as a well-deserved honour to him, his family, Amawbia Community, Anambra State and the Photojournalism

profession often overlooked or seen as not too important.
