Orumba South Chairman Lists Achievements in One Year, Pledges Support for Soludo’s Re-election

The Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Hon Shedrack Azubuike has listed his achievements in office in the last one year.

Azubuike, a former transition committee chairman of the local government was last year elected as the executive chairman of the local government on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Speaking with journalists in Awka on Thursday, the chairman who listed his achievements in office in the last one year stated that he would continue to work to support the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and also ensure his election during the November 8 governorship election.

He said: “Within one year as Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, we have registered numerous achievement, ranging from infrastructural projects, empowerment, distribution of items and others.

“They include; the construction and conversion of Nkwo Triangle into Central Park for motorcycle and tricycle operators, grading and sand-filling of major roads within the local government, construction of 220meters erosion control at Okukoro Ajaekpe by Orie Nwaohadu, Ndikpa Umunze and equipping of Amuda Primary Health center.

“Others are; ongoing construction and equipping of modern ICT centre in the LG Secretariat, initiation of sweeping of major roads within the Local Government Headquarters, distribution of Cassava Stem Cuttings, 9,000 Yam seedlings: 4000 pieces of proved Maize.”

Speaking in the area of empowerment, Azubuike said through Nwabugo Empowerment Foundation, about five Orumba South youths have been empowered with vulcanizing machine, also ongoing documentation of Orumba South youths for training in areas like Cyber Security, Programming, Tailoring, Agriculture, Welding, etc.

He also said that one Mr. Nnaemeka Okoliofor was empowered with 1million Naira grant to start up a business through the foundation among others. He added that through his interventions, there have also been improvement in security in the area.

He added that in the forthcoming election, he has since been galvanizing his people towards support for the re-election of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who he rated as the best governor Anambra has produced so far.
