Sir Jude Ezenwafor (Digar), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Anambra State, has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to stop further demolitions of properties in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area.

Ezenwafor made the appeal during an inspection tour of the affected areas, particularly Afor Nnobi Market Square, where he expressed dismay at the government’s demolition of houses, shops, offices and critical infrastructure for a road project without adequate compensation to the owners.

The PDP candidate emphasized the need to preserve Nnobi’s 300-year-old heritage and economic activities, especially in the bustling market square.

He noted that the demolitions threaten the livelihoods of many families and urged the government to intervene to improve the business community’s living standards.

Ezenwafor suggested engaging professional civil engineers to mark designated areas to avoid destructive damages.

He proposed alternative solutions, including building overhead flyovers or underground runways, to reduce costs and prevent loss of monumental properties.

He condemned the slow pace of work at the construction site and expressed concern over business owners displaying goods in open spaces without shelter.

During his visit, Ezenwafor appreciated his people for their support and expressed optimism about delivering on his mandate if elected on November 8, 2025.

He promised to sustain issue-based campaigns throughout his electioneering period.

The event concluded with a get-together with PDP ward chairmen and supporters celebrating his primary election victory.
