Police dismantle Ojukwu’s, Uwazuruike’s pictures in Anambra

The pictures of late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and Chief Raph Uwazuruike, have been dismantled in Anambra state by the police.

This, happened Wednesday as they raided the office of the pro-biafra agitators in the state, arresting 87 year old member of the group, Chief Sylvester Dinyelu.

The security operatives equally, arrested two others, Chief Beka Udemefuna, 66 years and Mr Amauche Ode, 53 years

Not only that, the pictures of the former Biafra warlord, late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and the leader of Biafra Independence Movement and Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign state of Biafra MASSOB were carted away by the raiders.

During the invasion, plastic seats numbering over 16 belonging to BIM-MASSOB were taken away among other property.

These were revealed to reporters in Awka, Anambra state, in a statement Wednesday by the Senior Special Assistant to BIM-MASSOB leader, Chief Chris Mocha.

He further alleged that the arrested members of the pro- Biafra movement at tgeir regional office along Awkuzu-Otuocha road in Ifitedunu, in Dunukofia council area, were taken to the Criminal Investigation’s Department CID annex at Awkuzu

According to the statement, “The members of BIM-MASSOB were seated in the office at Ifitedunu when the heavily armed policemen numbering over five arrived the office in the evening and shot sporadically into the air which led people living around the area to scamper for their safety.

“The arrested members were handcuffed, Ojukwu and Uwazuruike’s enlargement photographs and 16 plastic chairs were recovered and taken away to Awkuzu, Anambra state”

BIM-MASSOB demanded for their release from the Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Annex, Awkuzu.

The group maintained that the arrested members were very peaceful, having belonged to Uwazuruike’s BIM-MASSOB that had not constituted a security risk in the State.

When contacted, the state police public relation’s officer, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga, a Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP, failed to confirm the incident, but rather, said, ” thank you for the information ”

But one of the Senior Police Officers in the state, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the development.

The source said the command was not ready to give any of such groups chance to continue terrorizing the state for no reason whatsoever.

The senior officer said, people should allow the residents to leave a peaceful life, adding that the command was still in the hunt of those who were trying to make Anambra ungovernable.
