Anambra community benefits from group’s free Medical help

The people of Nimo community, in Njikoka local government area of Anambra State, heaved a sigh of relief Sunday, when a group , Likeminds Progressives Forum of Nigeria LPFN, visited the area with free medical Outreach .

The group visited the community with Six medical doctors, one Pharmacist and four nurses to treat those with some medical issues .

Some of the medical problems discovered in the community, according to the leader of the medical team, Dr Joseph Ugwu from Enugu State, were hypertension, malaria, diabetes and eye problems .

Speaking with Therazornews at the weekend, Ugwu, said most of the elderly people were found to have mainly diabetes and hypertension, while the younger ones had mainly malaria .

He said they did diagnosis on the patients on different ailments, adding that their initial target was 100 persons, but when they got there, the number was surpassed because of their problems .

The past Secretary of the Likeminds Progressives Forum of Nigeria, Sir Ikem iliobi, said ,it had become an annual event for them for the past 20 years .

He said every year they make sure 60 percent of their contributions was channeled to charity work .

“We’ve done many projects in the last 20 years , including visiting different hospitals to save lives .

“This year, we decided to come to Nimo to give medical attention to the indigent, widows and others and by the grace of God, we plan to take it to all the Southeast States soon “Iliobi said

The Chairman of the Medical Outreach Committee, Hon Chuks Obiweluozor, said their concentration was not only on less privileged, but all across board in the society .

We visit rehabilitation centers ,motherless homes and we have been building facilities and donating to some hospitals like toilets among others.

The President General of Nimo Community, Okafor Omabu, praised the group and the Medial team for coming to his community to save lives.
