In a heartwarming display of sportsmanship, Chris Chikwelu (Jr), the newly elected Chairman of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) of Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC), Nkwelle-Ezunaka, has extended an olive branch to his opponents in the just-concluded PTA election.
In a statement issued on Monday , Chikwelu expressed his deep gratitude to all stakeholders who participated in the election, including the Principal of the school, the representative of the Federal Ministry of Education, and the outgone PTA Chairman and his executives.
“I thank you for your patience, candour, and mien throughout the time of meeting, oration, election, and collation,” Chikwelu said, adding “I also thank the electoral committee, distinguished co-parents, excellent teachers, school prefects, and every other stakeholder who in one way or the other partook in Saturday’s election.”
Chikwelu, who emerged victorious in the election, emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among all stakeholders, saying, “Election is over, let’s go to work. There’s no winner, there’s no loser! We are here because our daughters are here, let’s work together!”
He called on all hands to be on deck, saying, “This is the time for all hands to be on deck, no war-war but jaw-jaw.
“I and my team need your prayers, support, and ideas so that we can constructively engage each other to enable us sustain the already established legacies and other values to enthrone the best for our daughters.”
