Soludo: Anambra Consensus Candidate For Nov. 8 Governorship Poll

Across the state, people remark that the upcoming election is unusually quiet compared with previous ones. They note that there appears to be no serious contender against the incumbent, cerebral governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

It is therefore not surprising that Governor Soludo has emerged as the consensus candidate for the upcoming Anambra governorship election scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold on November 8, 2025.

His antecedents and performance over the past three and a half years have so humbled the opposition that other candidates hardly register in the public’s consciousness.

As Alexis de Tocqueville noted in one of his treatises on democracy, “In a democracy, the people get the government they deserve.” In 2021 under the administration of the former Governor Willie Obiano, the people’s party – APGA produced Prof. Soludo as its candidate and the people voted him overwhelmingly.

Today, everyone in the state is reaping the benefits of that decision: Over 8,000 teachers have been recruited and deployed to various schools in the state, over 8,000 youths trained in various skills and empowered with seed capital, over 25,000 trained in various digital skills, over 1,000 health professionals hired and deployed to health care centers and hospitals across the state and Anambra won national awards in that regard.

Every local government area has ongoing or completed projects, and the conduct of local government elections has further empowered communities and deepened governance at the grassroots.

As Ndi Anambra, we are home and dry with Governor Soludo – let the Solution continue.
