Soludo appoints Peter Obi’s lawyer’s sister Commissioner for Special duties

The Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has appointed two more Commissioners into his cabinet.
One of the new commissioners, Beverly Nkemdiche new Ikpeazu is a younger sister to a senior counsel( Onyechi Ikpeazu(SAN) to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party( LP) in the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi.
Onyechi Ikpeazu was the lead counsel that had been prosecuting Obi’s legal matters from 2003 when his mandated was truncated by the People Democratic Party whose candidate was announced the winner of that year’s poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC)
He also led the legal team that reinstated Obi during his impeachment in 2006 as well as removal in office in 2007 by an election conducted by the Independent National Election Commission(INEC) that brought Andy Uba of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) for 17 days.
Also in the ongoing presidential election matter that is now at the Supreme Court, Ikpeazu is also amongst Obi’s senior legal team.
According to reports, the new Commissioners, Mr. Izuchukwu Moses Okafor and Mrs. Beverly Nkemdiche Ikpeazu, were confirmed by the State House of Assembly during a plenary on Thursday.
While Mr. Okafor was confirmed as Commissioner for Finance; Ms Beverly Nkemdiche was confirmed as the Commissioner for Special Duties.
