Soludo Congratulates Anyaoku at 93, Hails Diplomatic Legacy

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has congratulated elder statesman and former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, on his 93rd birthday, describing him as a global icon of diplomacy and a national treasure whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo extolled Chief Anyaoku as a world-renowned diplomat, revered patriot and an illustrious son of Anambra State who has brought immense honour to Nigeria on the global stage.

The Governor praised Anyaoku’s distinguished service as the third Commonwealth Secretary-General, noting that his tenure remains a reference point in international leadership, conflict resolution and principled advocacy for democracy, human rights and sustainable development.

According to Soludo, Chief Anyaoku’s career exemplified the finest Nigerian values of wisdom, integrity and unwavering commitment to the common good, earning him global respect and recognition.

“At home, Chief Anyaoku continues to stand as a beacon of intellectual rigour, principled guidance and patriotic devotion,” the statement said, adding,“His wealth of experience and selfless counsel remain invaluable assets in the collective quest for a progressive Anambra State and a united Nigeria.”

Governor Soludo said the celebration of Anyaoku’s 93rd birthday was not only a mark of longevity but also a tribute to a life of extraordinary service and enduring impact on Nigeria, Africa and the wider world.

The Governor wished the nonagenarian continued good health, lasting fulfilment and profound peace in the years ahead, while reaffirming the state’s pride in his towering achievements and exemplary life of service.
