Chieftain of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and former Chief of staff to Governor Willie Obiano, Chief Primus Odili has dismissed rumours that Governor Chukwuma Soludo will slow down on his pace of development in the state, having achieved his re-election bid.
Some people in the state had said that Soludo’s numerous achievements within his first tenure was because he feared that he may not be reelected, hence the need to impress citizens of the state.
Chief Odili who spoke to journalist in Awka at the weekend said the governor is even poised for greater work in his second term.
He said: “On the contrary, the administration is more committed than ever to making Anambra the most livable and preferred destination for investors.
“Based on the government’s achievements in its first term and the projects launched just before re-election, the state will transform into a vast construction zone, birthing new mega-cities across every region.
“I have no doubt that the next four years will be a period of consolidating the foundation laid in the first term.
“Governor Soludo leads with a clear vision and precise execution. If you study his administration, you will see a government that plans deeply and for the long term. The completed and ongoing projects are a testament to a determined effort to leave Anambra far better than it was found.”
Ofili who commended the new mega cities springing up in the hinterlands of the state said: “Governor Soludo is done with the business of minting currency with the Central Bank, he is now minting emerging Cities, he is minting credible, sustainable cities towards the actualization of the dream Dubai/Taiwan as the gateway hub for Anambra’s economic and industrial growth.
“Why shouldn’t Ekwulobia join the league of major cities? Why shouldn’t Nnobi be preparing for that status? What stops Agulu from joining? And Okpoko—yes, Okpoko—why shouldn’t it aspire to be a key urban center? I recently saw a sign that read, ‘Welcome to Mgbakwu City.’ This is now the new normal in Anambra State”
Chief Odili cited the cumulative achievements of successive APGA governments as the bedrock of Anambra’s steady development and called on opposition parties to quickly join hands in supporting the mega-development drive of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
He urged Anambra people to remain faithful to APGA and heed its directives in future elections, noting that the party has consistently proven its commitment to the state’s progress.
