The 10th Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting, held at the new Government House, has approved the establishment of the Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission to implement the recently assented Anambra State Electricity Act.

A recruitment drive for subject-matter experts to join the new commission has been launched.

This was one of the key decisions made at the meeting, as disclosed by Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, PhD, in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Other notable decisions include the confiscation and sealing of facilities used as holding places for child beggars, in accordance with the Anambra Homeland Security Law 2025.

The new Anambra Government House Mini City was christened “Light House Awka,” in line with the state’s slogan, “Light of the Nation.”

ANSEC also explored ways to restore Anambra society, reshape its moral and social structures, and establish the project as a lasting legacy of the Soludo administration.
