Anambra state Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has concluded plans to sack the state Judiciary workers who embarked on an indefinite strike about two weeks ago.
It wasgathered that the meeting with the leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN)with Soludo ended in stalemate
Therefore, the striking workers have scheduled a Congress tomorrow to brief members and to know what next.
The indefinite strike had crippled activities in all the Courts in the state.
The strike, according to the Union, in a statement two weeks ago, became necessary because the state Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, ignored the 21- Day ultimatum given by the Union
The Anambra State Government had failed to comply with the agreements reached in 2011 and 2015 with the state JUSUN
The agreements centered on the full implementation of the Consolidated Judiciary Salary Structure (CONJUS), a peculiar allowance for judiciary staff in the state.
However, during the meeting Wednesday, Razor sources said instead of Soludo addressing the issue of strike, he threatened to sack the workers and recruit about 1000 new staff of the body.
Soludo said, he had directed the Accountant General to pin off July salary of the Judiciary workers for absconding from work.
The Governor, it was equally gathered from some government sources, said he had concluded arrangements to recruit new judicial staff by August 1st.
According to the government sources, “Mr Governor told them that they are over populated and that he intends to recruit not more than 1000 staff with required skills” among other things
