Soludo Urges Wealthy Anambra Indigenes to Partner Government for Community Development

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has urged wealthy and successful indegenes of the state to partner with the State Government under the Platform of Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) to develop communities in the State.
Prof Soludo spoke yesterday at Nnobi Idemili South Local Government Area when he commissioned one km road and three solar powered boreholes built by a businessman from the community, High Chief Hamilton Ezeonu.
He also inspected the Nnobi hospital in which the businessman reroofed and built a standard doctor’s quarters.
Elated Soludo said that developing Anambra communities must be a joint effort between Government and the citizens especially wealthy individuals from the state.
” You must invest in our communities to invest in our future, to secure these children. I adopted a school in my village. I came to celebrate Chief Ezeonu to send a message to all the Anambra people” Soludo said.
He told the High Chief that he would not know the legacy he would be leaving for the future with the road he constructed and the hospital he renovated.
“You may have future leaders, scientists, doctors delivered this hospital or passed through this road or drink water from those boreholes you sunk. You can’t tell how many lives you would have saved” he said.
He continued: ” Even if nobody celebrates you, God will. But that is why we have come to celebrate you. We will take the message to Anambra people. I am happy that Anambra people are responding to the message of partnering with Government”
He said partnering with rich Anambrarians to develop our communities is a call for action by all, saying that in it everybody is a winner.
Prof Soludo said: Your type is what we want. There is no other purpose in life than service to humanity. Service to others is the only thing we have in life because you have used what you have to aid creation”.
The Governor assured that with individuals like High Chief Ezeonu responding to their calls, his Government would reciprocate by tackling the Idemili South Ring Road but it would be in phases.
Governor Soludo who had earlier launched an agricultural initiative tagged ” Farm To Feed Campaign” at Amansea, Awka lauded the Anambra youth for not joining the “End Bad Governance Protest”.
He said everybody has a duty to farm to prevent hunger, saying that every empty land in the State must be cultivated, a project he said his wife has commenced.
In his speech, High Chief Ezeonu said God, his wife who he described as his “rock” and Governor Soludo inspired him to carry out the projects.
He said Governor Soludo’s campaign slogan of turning the state into Taiwan -Dubai impressed him much that he decided to contribute his quota to achieve that purpose.
Chief Ezeonu said the road was completed within 15 days with Solar lightning, drainage and pedestrian path and flowers to beautify it.
He also said he is working to bring home 50 Nnobi rich people in June 2025 to discuss how to develop the town, assuring that there would be more projects in the community.
He lauded the chairman of the Local Government, Mrs Amaka Obi, for her ceaseless efforts to ensure the construction and completion of the road.
