Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, has visited Maiduguri to commiserate with his Borno State counterpart, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum CON, over the devastating floods that have ravaged the state.
The floods, caused by the collapse of the Alau Dam, have affected over one million individuals and displaced countless families. Governor Soludo’s visit was aimed at showing solidarity with the people of Borno and assessing the humanitarian situation.
Accompanied by top officials, including the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, the Executive Director of the Primary Health Development Agency, representatives from the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the Emeka Offor Foundation, Governor Soludo stressed the need for collective support.
“In times like these, it is crucial for us to come together in support of those affected, offering our compassion, assistance, and our hands and hearts to help rebuild lives and restore hope,” Soludo said.
During his visit, Governor Soludo also paid a courtesy call on the Palace of the Shehu of Borno.
The Anambra State Governor prayed for God’s strength and solace to be upon the victims as they navigate this difficult journey.
