The Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Agency, ACTDA, Hon Ossy Onuko has called for a positive direction of the minds of youths away from crime and drug filled life.
Onuko described youths as the bedrock of every society, saying that if properly trained, will yield uncommon fruits for Nigeria in general and Anambra State in particular.
The ACTDA Boss implored the state government, relevant Agencies and well meaning NdiAnambra, to harness the human capital potentials in the youths of today, in order to shift their minds from drug abuse and other societal vices.
Hon. Onuko spoke on the occasion of the private award-giving ceremony by the ASATU youth Wing, who marked their annual youth summit, at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, recently.
He was during the event conferred a ‘Patron of the Anambra Youth Award’.
He promised to work assiduously in uplifting the youths of Anambra at all times.
Receiving the Award on behalf of Onuko, the National Coordinator of the Soludo Ambassadors, High Chief Obayor Nwachukwu, extolled the work done by the ASATU Youth Wing and encouraged them to do more for the young people of the state.
Describing the ACTDA Boss as an epitome of youthfulness and a beacon of light, the ASATU youth President, Comrade Ken Okoli, urged him to continue the good works he has been doing for the youths of Anambra.
Okoli stated that before the end of 2024, ASATU Youth Wings will be established in all the states of Nigeria, and in all countries of the world.
Highlight of the event, featured the presentation of a plaque and a book, to Hon. Ossy Onuko.
