The Anambra State Governor-elect, Prof Chukwuman Soludo has warned communities and individuals in the state to stop trooping to his Isuofia home, in Aguata Local Government Area, seeking for favour.

Soludo stated this when a delegation from Amanuke community in the Awka North Local Government Area of the state paid him a courtesy call.

Addressing the Amanuke delegation Soludo said he did not need such solidarity visits to do the right things.

Soludo had at several times after his election on November 6 said he would do things differently, including appointment of government functionaries which he said would be done through applications and examinations from interested individuals, adding that he would sack all government revenue agents immediately after his swearing in on March 17.

He said, “I assure you that my administration will ensure even development of all communities. I would discourage this idea of trooping to my community for solidarity visits. Anambra must be transformed to a mega industrialized economy. Everybody will get everything due to them in our government.

He restated that his campaign promises were not mere political statements, but a social contract with Anambra people, adding that he had already hit the ground running.

“I’m committed to the transformation of the state; I will ensure impactful leadership and realization of my campaign promises”, Soludo stated.

He said the task before him was huge and that his vision for a better and industrialized Anambra State was achievable and as such, all hands must be on deck to actualize his vision for the state.

The traditional ruler -elect of Amanuke community , Chief Dennis Ezebuilo, in his speech assured Soludo of the support of his community.

Ezebuilo who spoke through the Leader of the Amanuke delegation, Barrister Jonas Okolo, thanked the Governor-elect and assured him of the support of the Amanuke elders council and the Amanuke people.

The delegation said it would expect a quantum leap in the economic transformation of the state and Amanuke Eri and the development of human capital especially in the productive sector of the economy, under the new administration.

The Amanuke delegation later presented a framed portrait of the Governor-elect as a mark of appreciation and support from the Igwe-elect( monarch) of Amanuke and Amanuke people.
