The management of The Sun Newspapers have named Anambra born philanthropist and business mogul, Chief Ikenna Okafor as the winner of the 2023 Man of the Year in Humanitarian Service.
Okafor was given the award in an elaborate ceremony held in Lagos at the weekend, following his numerous philanthropic gestures in his home state; Anambra and Rivers State, where his businesses are based and other parts of the country.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Keves Global Leasing Limited has been notable in donating to hospitals, secondary schools and tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Former Anambra State governor, Mr Peter Obi was during the ceremony also named the 2023 Political Icon.
During the award ceremony, Okafor who attended with his wife, Esther Okafor praised her for being the pillar behind most of his works.
The business mogul recently opened the corporate head office of his company in Port Harcourt, in an event attended by prominent Nigerians from the business world, politics, Nigerian military and others, where many gave testi.onies of his philanthropic works.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, has felicitated the philanthropist.
Obidiegwu in a statement released in Awka described the award as well thought decision, given Okafor’s massive contribution to the development of education Anambra State, and his community.
Okafor had also been named the ABS Man of the Year 2023, in an elaborate event held in Awka.
Obidiegwu said: “We pray that God will continue to bless Chief Okafor with more wisdom, strength, resources and enablement to continue to impact lives positively in Akwaeze community, Anambra State and Nigeria at large.”
